Kllo's second single of 2018 stutter-steps in on a crisp kick pattern and cut-up vocal stabs. Chloe Kaul mirrors the meter, leaning into the groove, peppering pointed lines along to Simon Lam's syncopated trapesque beat. "It's about understanding the power of my words, which is something new to me and the fundamental key to my happiness," Kaul explains. Lyrically she confronts an uncomfortable experience with uncompromising strength, "being as candid as I can and deserve to be." This new mode of Kllo was first introduced with "Potential" and the Melbourne duo continue to thrive in it here on "Candid," effortlessly blurring the line between silky balladry and smooth bangers.
Wow! What a wonderful band. It’s hard to pick a favorite but Again ft. Ghostly Kisses is just gorgeous, her voice is so beautiful and full of body yet with an airy quality similar to a flute. The melody is exotic and chill at the same time. This album is well mixed and mastered. I’m not into the instrumental pieces but everyone has their own tastes. Will be watching this band for more releases in the future. Kolina Lind
